Kids Scuba Summer Camp

Kids age 10 and up are welcome in any of our regular scuba courses. Nevertheless, every summer we conduct a week-long Scuba Summer Camp that’s just for kids ages 10 to 15.

This “Just for Kids” activity is a fun and enjoyable opportunity in and of itself and provides the added benefit of resulting in Open Water Diver certification. Kids learn in an atmosphere tailored to meet their special needs while enjoying the camaraderie of students their own age.

And it’s one week where you won’t have to worry about what your kids are up to.

Who?

Who Can Participate? This program is open to anyone who:

• Is between the ages of 10 and 15.

• Can swim 200 yards (any stroke; no time limit).

• Can tread water for ten minutes.

• Can complete the necessary self study (with parental help and supervision).

• Is able to either answer No to all questions on the standard Medical History form or secure a physician’s approval prior to the start of class.

What?

What is involved? This course consists of:

• Self study.
• Five classroom sessions.
• Five pool sessions.
• Five open-water training dives.

Where and When?

Class sessions will be held at the Louisville Dive Center followed by training at the pool and quarry.

How Much?

How much does it cost? The fee is $395 per person and includes:

• All instruction.
• Pool admission.
• Student kit (text, DVD, dive tables and log).
• Use of all equipment other than mask, snorkel, fins.
• Certification card processing.
• DAN insurance while training.

Students are responsible for supplying:

• Swimsuit and towel for each session.
• Mask, snorkel, fins?.
• Lunch money.
• Transportation to and from class, pool and open water.
• Quarry admission ($20/day for two days).
